Pinwheels and Boutique Bows...What's the DIF?

Boutique Bows have a higher profile and require a different kind of fold than a....

Clippy Lining Education 101

Before I became an accessorizor extraordinaire, I was befuddled by the different descriptions of clippies and their attributes. "To partially or fully line?" "Heat seal or fray check?"

"Who cares?" Well, I do. These things make a difference, so I have decided to help educate you; the mommies, grandmas and aunties who lovingly buy pretty things for the little gals in your life. I want you to be able to buy hair accessories that suit your needs, as well as be sturdy and lasting.

When discussing alligator clips, which I use exclusively, hair bow and clippy makers will refer to their clips as "partially" or "fully" lined. "Partially" lined clippies have ribbon attached to them all along the underside, top and hinge if the clippy. This covers the ugly metal clip and gives the bow or applique something to adhere to. I like "partially" lined clips the best because they also allow the bottom claw of the clip to really get under the hair for a secure, tight fit that won't budge. "Fully" lined clippies have ribbon on all metal parts, including the bottom claw. This looks nicer, but doesn't grip nearly as well.

Thus, I have chosen to partially line and add no-slip grip to my clippies so that they grip better. I would rather see the pretty clippy perfectly situated IN her hair than painfully hanging loosely by one strand of hair.

Going Clippy Crazy...It Begins...

Bailey is Cruising!

Just an update- Our sweet baby is cruising furniture now and taking steps while her hands are held. Today she tried to walk away from the couch and realized she doesn't know how to walk quite yet. We are so proud of our little peanut and her tenacity!

REMINDER- THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ORDERING A HOLIDAY BOW, PLEASE CONTACT ME SOON SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE IT IN PLENTY OF TIME TO ENJOY IT! (I will be very busy with several craft shows this season, starting the 17th of November.)

Enjoy this holiday season and the glorious sight of seeing our little ones experience all the beauty of Thanksgiving and Christmas for the first time...I know I will.

Updates, October 1

Well, business is picking up! Thank you to my Tucson friends who help keep me on my toes with all of their beautiful and fun custom orders! Also, I had a special on my etsy shop that included free shipping. Free shipping is ALWAYS nice. especially when the seller doesn't hike up the price to secretly cover the shipping costs. I think next month I will include a free mini flower clippy as an incentive. Those flower clippies get really sweet comments every time...People will love them once they try 'em out!

Most recently and best of all, BAILEY IS CRAWLING! She is hilarious and always goes for the computer and cell phone cords. This movement business means that taking her picture to show bows on etsy has been a little tricky. I mean, who wants to sit when you can CRAWL?! Oh well, it is all so fun...I don't care! We are so proud of our little Bailey Boo. She's the BEST.

NEW! 2 Inch Mini Boutique Bows

These teeny tiny boutique bows are my new absolute favorite! They are so perfect and miniature that people stop me all the time when my baby wears her's. Each bow measures only 2 inches long by 1.5 inches wide! They are attached to fully lined, non-slip alligator clips. All ends are sealed to prevent fraying. Bows are sprayed with starch to maintain shape. All bows are shipped in boxes to keep them perfectly shaped. Ships in 2-3 business

Bailey With a "Bailey" Bow

Let Me Introduce Myself

My name is Stacey and I have a beautiful baby daughter named Bailey. I started making headbands and hair bows for Bailey when I could only find a few to choose from in the shops. When I did find something cute, it would be cheaply made, too big for her little head and expensive to boot. Making her hair bows gave me the freedom to match them to her outfits. I had so much fun coming up with all of the different combinations of ribbon and buttons, that I decided to sell a few to friends and family who asked for specific combinations to match their little girls' clothing. That went so well that now, I am offering them to you.
